Grande Ronde Hospital | FY2017 | Community Benefit Report

G R A N D E R O N D E H O S P I TA L FY2017 Community Benefit Report UNION COUNTY is filled with amazing people and organiza- tions whose sole passion is helping others. I feel truly blessed to live in this beautiful area. During the 2015 Community Health Needs Assessment (CHNA) process, a wide range of community leaders, partners and individuals came together in a labor-intensive and lengthy process of engagement. From the CHNA, we gained a greater understanding of where we and our community partners stood in fulfilling our respective missions. For our part, Grande Ronde Hospital specifically focused on the following areas of need in our community: w  w Preventive care—chronic illness w  w Mental health—access to care w  w Mental health—substance abuse and addiction Driven by a shared vision Over the past year, we worked to move the dial in meeting these community needs. This annual report highlights some of our efforts. As I reflect on our activities, a central theme emerges—one of ongoing community partnerships and collab- orations. It is not uncommon to see a familiar face serving as a member of multiple committees or organiza- tions. We are all driven by a shared vision of wanting to see Union County become an even better place in which to live and thrive. I am thankful for our community partners and their willingness to collaborate with us. I want to share a quote by beloved American poet Mattie Stepanek, who published seven best-selling books of poetry and peace essays during his too-short life: “Unity is strength…when there is teamwork and collaboration, wonderful things can be achieved.” I look forward to the coming year and our continued work to achieve these wonderful things.
