—Continued on page 2 new providers FOR YOUR good health Cardiology Lauren Dillman, FNP, spent the past two years providing primary, chronic and urgent care in Colorado. She has particular interests in general cardiology, health promotion and disease prevention. When not caring for patients, Dillman enjoys hiking, weight lifting, rock climbing, camping, traveling and spending time with her family. Emergency medicine David Ingram, MD, spent the past two years in Temple, Texas, where he completed his resi- dency after finishing medical school at the Medical College of Wisconsin. Dr. Ingram and his family enjoy the outdoors through hiking, skiing, photography and general recreational travel. In his free time, he also enjoys woodworking and furniture-building. Robert Shanks, FNP-C, has approxi- mately 20 years of nursing experience in the acute care setting, having spent time in ICU/CCU with the majority of time in an Emergency Department setting. A long-time Union County resident, Shanks enjoys the fishing and hunting this area offers. His other hobbies include spending as much time with his family, particularly his grandchildren, as he can. Family medicine Ellen Barlow, FNP-C, completed her master’s degree at Gonzaga University. For the past several years she worked in a busy Emergency Department in Boise, Idaho. With a diverse background as a Union Hotshots wildland firefighter and EMT, Barlow looks forward to using her diverse skill set to transition into her new role as a primary care family nurse practitioner. With her husband and their two dogs, she is happy to be back in La Grande, where she was born and raised, enjoying all of the outdoor activities that Eastern Oregon has to offer. Rafaella Betza, MD, comes from John Day, where she has been practicing the full spectrum of rural medicine in the clinic, 12 Grande Ronde Hospital and Clinics has had great success recruiting new providers and services to Union County, particularly seven new primary care providers. They each fell in love with our community, hospital and clinics, then signed on the bottom line. Help us make these new Union County residents feel at home, and welcome them if you see them out and about. FALL 2020
