Stacy Iles, DPM, Podiatry Joins the Specialty Clinic September 2018 Dr. Iles received her undergraduate degree in psychology in 2006 from San Diego State University. In 2012, she completed her Doctor of Podiatric Medicine at the Rosalind Franklin University of Medicine and Science in Chicago. Dr. Iles began her career as a Co-Chief Resident with the Staten Island University Hospital (SIUH) in New York. While at SIUH, Dr. Iles’ duties put her in charge of a high-volume community clinic. During her time there, she also worked in a partnership with the director of plastic surgery for educa- tion on skin grafts and flaps. She became experienced with both basic and complex foot and ankle trauma in conjunction with podiatric and orthopedic surgery. Her work at the Endocrinology Community Clinic had an emphasis on the medical and psycho- logical aspects of treating diabetic patients. Dr. Iles was born in Hood River and is looking forward to returning to Oregon. She enjoys the diversity of cultures and foods she is able to expe- rience through traveling. Her personal hobbies include spending time with her children, outdoor activities and hitting the gym. Dr. Iles is a member of the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons, the American Podiatric Medical Association, and the American College of Foot and Ankle Orthopedics and Medicine. New faces at GRH Three new providers join the GRH Orthopedic Services provider team Adam Heisinger, DO, orthopedic surgeon specializing in sports medicine Joins the Specialty Clinic August 2018 Dr. Heisinger received his Doctor of Osteopathy from Des Moines University in Iowa in 2008. In 2009, he completed his internship at Affinity Medical Center in Ohio, where he later completed his residency in orthopedic surgery. He also served four years as a flight surgeon out of Langley Air Force Base, Virginia, and Shaw Air Force Base, South Carolina. He completed a fellowship in Sports Medicine at the Orthopaedic Research of Virginia in Richmond. Until he began his residency in Ohio, Dr. Heisinger spent most of his life in small rural communities. He is eager to return to this lifestyle. “I grew up in a town a little smaller than La Grande. I’m looking forward to finally being able to build a practice and become a member of a community like this again. I have friends in Oregon and am looking forward to reconnecting with them,” he says. At the top of his personal interests list is spending as much time as possible with his 6-year-old daughter, Briley. He also enjoys hiking, back- packing, camping, hunting and fishing. Dr. Heisinger’s professional inter- ests include sports medicine, team coverage, community outreach, and becoming involved with local high school and college athletes. He is a member of the American Osteopathic Academy of Orthopedics, the American Osteopathic Associa- tion, and the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons. Arie Trouw, MD, orthopedic surgeon special- izing in hand surgery Joins the Specialty Clinic August 2018 Dr. Trouw received his Doctor of Medicine from Indiana University School of Medicine in Indianapolis in 2012. He received his undergraduate degree in biochemistry from Indiana University, South Bend, Indiana, in 2007. During 2012 he served an academic appointment as a clinical assistant instructor at the State University of New York (SUNY) Health Science Center at Brooklyn, where he also completed his residency in orthopedic surgery. Dr. Trouw recently completed his fellowship in hand surgery at the University of Connecticut School of Medicine. He has been published in numerous medical papers on various topics of orthopedic medicine. Dr. Trouw grew up in a small mining town in South Africa, learning to love the outdoors, camping, fishing, hiking and hunting—a key to his desire to join the team here in La Grande. “I’ve always wanted to return to that kind of lifestyle and community. I had visited Oregon a few times in the past and felt very at home in the beautiful mountains, waterfalls and rivers,” he explains. He likes to spend as much of his free time as possible with his children.
