Grande Ronde Hospital | Life & Health | Fall 2020

The Grande Ronde Hospital Foundation completed its fiscal year fundraising efforts in May, marking the successful funding of three projects that have become key to local health care since the emergence of the COVID-19 pandemic, even though these projects were vetted long before COVID-19 was ever in the headlines. The funding and purchase of new hemodialysis machines for the ICU and Med/Surg departments, The Torch ultraviolet disinfection units and replacement telemedicine robots add to the now more than $4.7 million in patient care equipment and projects that the Grande Ronde Hospital Foundation has contributed to our community hospital for patient care. Grande Ronde Hospital by funding a new, next-generation x-ray machine that will be installed in the soon-to-open Grande Ronde Hospital Urgent Care. The new location, located at 10303 S. Walton Road in Island City, will be the home for the walk-in clinic, currently located in the Regional Medical Clinic building on Fourth Street in La Grande. Having imaging services located in the Urgent Care facility will be a big advantage for patients and providers alike. Currently, when a provider needs x-ray images they have to create a referral, and the patient must go to either the Hospital’s main campus or to the Orthopedic Clinic if it is a suspected fracture or other bone issue. With having the imaging in-house, patients don’t have to travel anywhere else—saving time and receiving a treatment plan when they leave.
