Bradley Close, CRNA, anesthesiology Close received his doctorate in nurse anes- thesia practice (DNAP) from Virginia Commonwealth University. He served three years of active duty as a captain and a certified registered nurse anesthetist (CRNA) for the U.S. Air Force out of Joint Base Andrews, Maryland. During an eight-month deployment to Northwest Africa, he was the sole U.S. anesthesia provider. In his free time, Close enjoys sports, spending time with his family in the outdoors and working in his wood shop. Edward Frink, MD, anesthesiology Dr. Frink joined the GRH team after relocating from Central Oregon. He is a graduate of the University of Chicago Pritzker School of Medicine. He enjoys outdoor activities, including camping, fishing and hunting. He is a worldwide traveler pursuing his passion for fly-fishing. When not fishing, he is often found following his two daughters to horse-jumping events or remodeling his 1958 Airstream. Gerrie Gardner, DO, FACC, FACP, cardiology Dr. Gardner has prac- ticed rural, general cardiology and invasive cardiology for 20 years across the western U.S., including in Nevada, Cali- fornia, Wyoming and Nebraska. After seven years with Providence Medical Center in Everett, Washington, she wanted to return to rural practice and chose Union County. She has a special interest in women’s heart disease. She thrives on leadership opportunities in medicine, having served as both the chairwoman for the Heart Failure Quality Committee and Clinical Chair for the Regional Heart Failure Task Group for Providence. She also loves being involved in her local community. Heather Brock, FNP-C, DCNP, dermatology Brock is a derma- tology certified nurse practitioner (DCNP). She comes to La Grande from Mid Florida Dermatology Associates. She completed her master of science degree as an advanced registered nurse practitioner from the University of Central Florida and is a member of the Dermatology Nurse Association. Jay Johnson, DO, emergency medicine Dr. Johnson joins GRH after spending several years as a locum tenens emergency medicine physi- cian, during which time he worked in a variety of hospitals across the United States. He is a 15-year U.S. Air Force veteran and the recipient of the Air Force Achievement Medal and two National Defense Service Medals. He received his doctor of osteopathic medicine degree from the Midwestern University Arizona College of Osteo- pathic Medicine. He and his wife have five married children and seven grandchildren. Brian Reynolds, MD, emergency medicine Dr. Reynolds relocated from his position at the Hendersonville Medical Center emergency department in Tennessee. He completed his doctor of medicine degree at the University of Washington School of Medicine and completed his residency at a Michigan State University-affiliated hospital. He and his wife have five children. They enjoy spending time in the mountains hiking, mountain biking, fly-fishing and skiing. He is also a board member and co-medical director of Haiti180, a not- for-profit charity mission organization providing homes, education and health care in Haiti. Derek G. Zickgraf, DO, emergency medicine Dr. Zickgraf completed his doctor of medicine degree at the Kirksville College of Osteo- pathic Medicine, in Kirksville, Missouri. He then completed both his residency and internship at the Tripler Army Medical Center, in Honolulu, Hawaii. Megan Brassine, NP-C, family medicine Brassine received her master of science degree from the family nurse practitioner program at George- town University School of Nursing after earning her undergraduate degree from Oregon Health & Science University, Portland, Oregon.
